Frequently asked questions
Q: I think there's a bee swarm on my property! Can you help?
A: Do NOT disturb the swarm or spray it with water or chemicals. We are happy to collect the swarm for you. Before calling a beekeeper, first try to take a photograph of the swarm, so we can confirm if they are actually honeybees. Go to www.honeybees911.com/ to find a local beekeeper to catch your swarm
Q: When can I register for bee school?
A: We usually begin taking registrations in November, and close registration when the class is full. We limit class size to 30 people.
Q: I am not a club member, can I attend a meeting?
A: Our meetings are always open to the public. If you're new to beekeeping and want to learn a bit more, stop in to see what it's about. If you start coming regularly, we'd love your membership support!
Q: I'm not sure what's going on in my hive/ I'm new and need help!
A: We are a small, volunteer group. The best way to have your questions answered is by attending a meeting and talking with a more experienced beekeeper. We always allow time during meeting for a "what's happening in the hive now" open Q&A.
Q: I'm a new beekeeper, do you have information I can read?
A: If you cannot come to our club, we have made every effort to post resources to this website under the resources tab!
